CARV was founded by designer and leather artisan, Becky Cocker. The CARV collection of leather handbags and accessories, made in the UK, is inspired by nature and life around the wild coastline of North Devon and Cornwall where Becky and her family have an organic smallholding. CARV leather goods are handmade to celebrate and elevate the beauty of traditional handcraft.
We are committed to creating beautifully made leather goods entirely by hand - without any machines - using centuries-old hand leatherworking techniques, focusing on the quality and perfection of every cut and hand stitch. This low-energy slower approach means all CARV handmade leather goods are made to last and uniquely beautiful, without costing the earth.

Slow and Sustainable
After training and working for many years in design practices in the city, CARV founder Becky decided to pursue her dream of a more creative and environmentally friendly path. Becky spent many years practising and honing her hand leather craft techniques, and then came the idea for CARV handmade leather bags & accessories.
Creating Lifetime Pieces
CARV is a response to our concerns about the environmental crisis facing our beautiful earth and the impact of a huge rise in fast, throw-away fashion since the 1980s.
As a UK sustainable fashion brand, we are adopting a slower, more considered approach to production. All CARV leather handbags and accessories are artisan made in the UK using low-energy hand craftsmanship with timeless designs that don’t follow seasons. Becky hand selects only the finest natural and pure vegetable tanned leather created without chemicals or plastic using naturally occurring tannins in organic materials such as tree bark.
With our slower production process only limited numbers of CARV leather goods are made every year making each piece special and original.
