Every CARV handcrafted leather bag and accessory, made in our studio in the South West UK, is inspired by the rugged natural beauty of North Devon and Cornwall’s coastal landscapes. Using centuries-old techniques and the finest natural materials, we transform beautiful full grain vegetable-tanned leather into original minimalist designs that are made slowly, and made to last. Hi, I’m Becky—Founder, Designer, and Leather Artisan at CARV.

At CARV, every stitch and every design is a celebration of handcraft. Our collection of leather handbags and accessories are proudly made in our UK studio at our home on the border of Devon and Cornwall, where my family and I run an organic smallholding.

CARV is all about honouring traditional craftsmanship. Every design is brought to life entirely by hand—without the use of machines—using centuries-old leatherworking techniques. This conscious, slower method allows time for us to give attention to every detail, creating fine quality leather goods that are beautiful and long lasting. And low-energy production ensures our leather goods tread lightly on the planet.

CARV began as a creative outlet after years of working in city-based design practices where I had developed a passion for sustainable living and design. As I began to master hand leathercraft I began to see its value in producing accessories more thoughtfully, more slowly, and in a way that is kinder the planet.

At CARV, we’re responding to the environmental challenges posed by fast, disposable fashion. By producing unique, lasting quality leather goods in limited quantities, we champion a slower, more intentional way of making and buying. Every piece is handcrafted here in the UK using only the finest natural, vegetable-tanned leather—free of synthetic materials or harsh chemicals. This traditional tanning process draws on nature, using organic materials like tree bark to achieve a rich, natural finish.
